A Christian Cannot Be Cursed Part 2

Something I wanted to add to my post “A Christian Cannot Be Cursed.”

I want to add that God can curse people. We see that with Job. Remember that Satan had to appear in the courts of heaven and get God’s permission to bring calamity upon Job. God, in order to test Job’s loyalty, allowed the testing but He added that Satan could not kill Job. We know also that God restored double everything Job had lost.

So in order for a witch or warlock to successfully curse a child of God they would have to have God’s permission.

Most of our “curses” we bring about ourselves by disobedience to God. The perfect example for that would be Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. This too is where generational curses come about. I will leave that for another day.

My Deliverance From Depression

God can heal depression. I know because I was miraculously delivered from a lifetime of pain caused by depression. Until God renewed my mind I would have thought I would be depressed forever….this is my story.

People have no trouble believing that someone with a physical ailment was healed. Why then is it so hard to believe that someone with depression can be healed?

I am old enough to remember those in my grandmothers generation just talked about someone who was down as having “the blues.” In my mothers generation the blues were changed into “depression” and came with a medical diagnosis and medication.

The big winner in treatment of depression is the pharmaceutical companies. They make billions off antidepressants. Some of the antidepressants cause anxiety. Now people become anxious and depressed. Some antidepressants also cause sleeping problems. Yet, antidepressants remain one of the most prescribed meds in the United States.

Anyone who has known me longer then 20 years will tell you that I had depression so severely that it was hard for me to get out of bed. I often spent days in bed with the curtains drawn. I was given one antidepressant after the other and they might have given me a little more energy, at first, but they only worked temporarily. Sooner or later I went back to being depressed.

Twelve years ago, with the help of my husband, I started researching depression. We soon began to realize it was almost impossible to find anyone who had been healed by pharmaceuticals. Around that time a drug called, Abilify was introduced. It was widely advertised on television. They said “If your antidepressant is not working you might want to add Abilify.”

Clinical depression: Depressed mood that meets the DSM-IV criteria for a depressive disorder. The term clinical depression is commonly used to describe depression that is a type of mental illness‘not a normal, temporary mood caused by life events or grieving. Notice this medical definition of clinical depression has no mention of chemically depressed;

And this one of Major Depressive Disorder;

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_depressive_disorder

I also want you to notice the length of time of the two major diagnoses for depression. Neither of these list “forever.” The pharmaceuticals companies do want anyone healed of depression. They want people on antidepressants forever because they are getting very wealthy from it. They can do this by brainwashing people that they are chemically unbalanced and there is nothing that they can do forever but take pills. We start to tell ourselves and others that until we believe it and it’s mind over matter. Now people are addicted to antidepressants and truly believe they must have them forever. That’s what Big Pharma wants. Don’t ever try getting off your antidepressants cold turkey. If you decide to stop taking them do so under medical supervision only.

I began to seek God through fasting and prayer because I counseled so many people who told me that they were depressed and when I asked if they were taking antidepressants they almost always said, “Yes” When I asked if they felt they were feeling any better they almost all said, “NO.”

I was sitting in front of my computer one afternoon and God spoke to my heart that he was going to heal me from depression and He was going to show me exactly how to help other people heal from depression. I have been completely healed from debilitating depression and my whole life changed. I am not going into it all in this blog post but there is a way to be set free and I have taught it to others who have also been set free from depression.

I have had more then one person tell me that they were paying someone up to “220.00” dollars an hour for therapy that wasn’t helping them. God’s method, as taught to me, will set you free and as the Word say’s, “Whom the Lord sets free is free indeed.”John 8:36.

The only failures I have seen are those who are not true believers in God and do not have a personal relationship with God. These are the scoffers who believe in traditional psychology and are sold out for pharmaceuticals.

When you are sick and tired of being depressed, God most certainly can and WILL deliver you. Depression is oppression that takes hold during a time of trauma or intense pressure. Depression is a common expression of a broken spirit. It is fed by daily dwelling in the valley of despair.

If you are ready to begin your healing process God will meet you right where you are and begin to renew your mind. Chemical imbalance can be healed through changes in diet and adding some vitamins and minerals supplements. That, and the correct tools, used faithfully, will continue your healing from depression.

God changed my life and it was such a miraculous change that my passion is to help others to do the same.

Disclaimer

I am not telling anyone to quit their antidepressants. I am not telling anyone to quit counseling or therapy. How you handle your depression is between you and God!

Christians and Halloween

Knowing the pagan roots of Halloween I have a real problem with celebrating it.

I am going to admit, right hear and now, that it was soooo hard for me, as a mom, to deny my children the fun everyone else was having.

I remember once, prior to backsliding and then being restored, the church we attended in Washington State had a party where the kids dressed as biblical characters. Looking back on it I guess it was still participating in Halloween because you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig.

I was a mess as a mom, But “saved and sane Cathie,”If I could do it over, would have sat my kids down when they were small and told them the history of the major demonic holiday. I then would have done something special including favorite movies, not horror flicks, and pizza, goodies and fun just for our family.

Think sanely Christians. Why would we celebrate a holiday dedicated as Holy by demons fathered by the devil? I know it’s hard but if we are truly saved it should prick our consciences to celebrate Halloween.

Don’t Stay Depressed Renew Your Mind

When God taught me how to renew my mind my entire life changed for the better.

We become depressed by thinking depressing thoughts and then dwelling in those thoughts.

Sometimes we like the attention that we get from being depressed. Most of the time we just stay depressed because we don’t realize that depression is a choice.

Try this; the minute you start to think about things that depress you say STOP. Then force your mind elsewhere. Play a game, read a book, watch a funny movie. You are in charge of what you think.

If music triggers thoughts of your ex, and that’s why you are depressed, do not listen to that music. Don’t watch romantic movies and don’t drink. Alcohol is a depressant.

You can renew your mind as soon as YOU make up your mind to do so.

Pray and ask God for strength and then just go forward!

A Christian Cannot Be Cursed

voodoodoll

When we think of Balaam we normally think of the story of Balaam and his donkey. As a matter of fact I often use that talking donkey as an answer to people who believe women should not teach the Word of God. I often say “If God used a donkey to talk to Balaam then he surely can use whomever He chooses to do His talking, even a woman.”

Today I actually want to teach on something that we often miss in Numbers 22. Occasionally, and especially with Halloween coming up at the end of October, I see prayers that people have on Facebook to ask God to deliver them from curses of witches and warlocks. Christians cannot be cursed by any witch or warlock, PERIOD. We often have people who have sat under the wrong teaching. These people, a lot of them taught by ministers in pagan countries, have learned that if they just pay one minister or the other they will give them a magic prayer to have a curse lifted from them. Truthfully, there are a lot of so called ministers in the United States, who being hungry for money, do the same thing. There are many who promise to curse someone for you if you send them money, and if it doesn’t “take” the first time, they then tell you they need more money.

In the time that Numbers 22 occurred there were the same kind of folks. There was fortune tellers, soothsayers, etc, that offered to curse people for money. Balaam, it turns out, was a so called diviner in the Old Testament.

King Balak of Moab was extremely concerned about the Israelites taking over the land. He decided that the thing to do was to hire Balaam to put a curse on the Israelites and that would get rid of them, he believed. I am not, for the sake of writing a long story and losing the reader, going to go into all that is in Numbers 22. I urge you to read it for yourself and by doing that you will see very clearly that NOBODY was able to put a curse on the Israelites.

The city of Alexandria was an occult hub. Egyptian witchcraft, sorcery, wizardry, enchantments, incantations and spells were practiced throughout the city. Balaam had a reputation for being a master sorcerer. Just as we see with so called prophets today, diviners in that day with a great track record made a whole lot of money. King Balak was well aware that hiring Balaam would not be inexpensive but he was so desperate to get rid of the Israelites he was willing to pay whatever it took.

Cutting to the chase Balaam tried THREE times to speak a curse on Israel and could not do it.
Finally he told King Balak, “How can I curse whom God hath not cursed, or how shall I defy, whom the Lord has not died?” Numbers 23:8.

It was absolutely impossible to place a curse on anyone whom God had placed a blessing on.

The Word teaches that when we accepted Christ as our savior, we were grafted into the blessings that Israel received from the Lord. We cannot be cursed by another person. It’s not possible!

God protects His children. I often hear from people who believe that someone has put a curse on their family. This is just one of the places in the bible where we see that Gods’ divine protection cannot be breached by someone operating under, or in cooperation, with the powers of Satan.

Beloved, I encourage you to come out from under the fear that Satan has put on you regarding the possibility of being cursed. If you are in Christ you are blessed of the Lord and as Balaam told Kind Balak, “What God has blessed, no one can curse!”

When We Die

Since I am at the age of “studying for the finals,” I have seen a lot of folks die. Some, like my sweet friend Kim, die young and go unexpectedly. Some simply die of old age. I truly have total peace regarding death. I believe that those who live in Christ have souls, which Christ said will live eternally, forever! Those who die lost, without Christ, should live it up now because for that man or woman this is the final place of living it up.

The Word of God says we sleep in Christ until he returns and at that time the dead in Christ go with Him to live with him eternally and those who are alive in Him will then go to eternal life. The others either go to hell or being dead and already residing there, depending on your interpretation of the Word. God took me to hell in a dream once. I won’t go into now but it was so horribly frightening. I saw people I knew there, it truly was a place of constant torment. I was never as happy to wake from a dream as I was from that one.

Kim’s son told me he had a dream about Kim. He said she looked young and had a peaceful, mystical look on her face. He asked her where she was and she told him, “I don’t know but I like it here!” I was so encouraged by that. Her soul is simply resting in peace until Jesus returns for us! What a wonderful confirmation of the Word of God!

Be Yourself

God made each of us unique. That uniqueness is made to appeal to other people that we are sent to minister to. Your gift may be art, or music, cooking or teaching wisdom but whatever it is use it for spreading God’s love.

Not everyone will like us and those people aren’t our people.

Be yourself and those who get you will stay and those who don’t will leave and that’s okay.

The greatest way to relax in God’s peace is to realize you were created for God’s purposes and not your own. Then and only then does life start to make sense.

God Get Me Out Of Here!

I often feel like Jonah. I can relate to him standing on the shore of Nineveh and looking at all the evil around him and saying, “God get them all!” To be fair Nineveh was an awful place to be. Evil was everywhere and don’t forget that Nineveh was the home of the Tower of Babel.

When we serve God He often uses us just where we are, in the belly of the beast. He keeps us there until, like Jonah, we repent and decide to do things God’s way.

Maybe you and I feel like we are wanting to escape our Nineveh today. Maybe we have bill collectors, troublemakers, our stressful jobs, sicknesses, family and Satan working through these very people that are all around us. In the natural, like Jonah, we are telling God, “Get me out of here let me escape to another town, another country, ANYWHERE God but here!”

Yet, like Jonah, God has a job for us to do in the midst of all these troubles. He wants us to witness to these people by showing them that through faith in the living God things can be better just where we are, right in the place we want so badly to escape.

When nothing is moving forward for you and you feel stuck consider the fact that God has a job to do, through YOU, right where you are. Once that job, whatever it is, is complete, then and only then, will God move you out.

So what can you do? Surrender. Yes, it’s that easy. Decide that, like Jonah, the quicker you surrender your will to His will, the quicker God will move you out of the current unpleasant situation you are in.

I often compare being in unpleasant situations to a caught fish, struggling to try and get off the hook the fish wildly trashes about. It’s all to no avail because that fish is not getting off that hook until the fisherman takes him off.

Surrender, be still and relax. You will be removed from these people and the unpleasant situation when God wants you to be removed. Be okay with that by living in the moment.

Dealing With Troublemakers

“ A dishonest man spreads strife.”

We all know them. They are troublemakers. Troublemakers are people who are so miserable in their own life that the only thing that makes them happy is starting trouble between other people, stirring the pot, and then sitting back and gleefully watching the outcome of the trouble they created.

It has taken me awhile but I have recently discovered a major troublemaker in my circle of friends and family. I had noticed that every single person that this person and I know in common suddenly stops talking to me. When, to the best of my knowledge, I had done nothing to any of these people to upset them I prayed about it and God revealed to me the source of the trouble was one person. One person who I have had discernment about for sometime. One person who was at one time close to God but through sexual addictions has opened a door to every demonic spirit one can imagine. Several years ago the person had pictures online of them in church. Then, apparently, they got involved with a bad person or two and you can see that Satan has entered their life now and as they say, “in spades.”

Because most Christians are sensitive people, when we don’t have on the armor of God, when we don’t have the gift of discernment in knowing how to best deal with these troublemakers, they can easily get under our skin, disrupting our home and lives, pulling us into their lion’s den.

All it takes is one Satan filled demon from hell to turn your whole office, family and or friends against you.

At first, when you are the target, you think as a Christian that you can simply pray for them and be kind to them and they will change their ways. I considered that, and frankly I have been praying for the person for years. I prayed for them long before their jealousy of my life led them to try and destroy my ministry and my life.

Upon studying the Bible, regarding the way Jesus handled trouble makers, I came to the knowledge that Jesus used diverse ways in handling troublemakers. Some times he confronted them with anger and outrage while telling followers to pray for these people.

You can try ignoring them but most of them, I have found, become further upset and then do anything they can to get your attention.

I honestly believe the best way to handle them is to go to the people who no longer speak to you and tell them what you suspect the person, the troublemaker, of doing. Their favorite tactic is to tell someone you said something about them. Something hurtful. You can then try and set the record straight. Unfortunately these troublemakers are very skilled at what they do and sometimes the offended friend will NOT believe you.

To my friends in ministry, of any type, I want to warn you of something some of you already know and that is the fact that ministry can be very lonely. We have very few friends because of the anointing Christ has on our lives. Other Christians, out of jealousy, look for something to accuse you of. If you, being human, have a hard day and share that with a friend, the next thing you know it’s used against you. Be very careful of who you share with!

Troublemakers need to be exposed. I have found, as I fast and pray about the situation, God reveals to me how to deal with the problem. He also starts to out the troublemakers to others who then begin to see the truth.

You want to give a troublemaker as little ammunition against you as possible so, after praying, God may tell you to unfollow them on FB, and cut them out of your life. If you have to work with them plead the blood of Jesus over yourself anytime you come into contact with them. Ask God to turn the arrows they are attacking you with right back onto them. God once, during prayer, gave me a vision of a shield of armor surrounding me, as a circular fence. Every time the troublemaker shot malicious arrows my way they bounced off the shield of armor and went back onto the troublemaker.

Do not, and I know it’s so hard, get anxious about a troublemaker. Remember, and quote often, the following scripture;

“Greater is He who is within ME then he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4.

Lastly, the Word tells us to ignore troublemakers. Set things straight with others, if you can, and then simply try to not think of it all the time. Stop anxiety thoughts and place your mind elsewhere. Then give it to God and try to forgive them, through Christ, who has forgiven you and me of so very much!

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. – James 4:7

Anxiety Caused By Financial Stress

Living beyond our means causes a whole lot of our anxiety. Pray to get your finances into control. Quit buying things you cannot afford. Pay off your credit cards a little at a time. When our lives are out of control there will be disorder in every area. Disorder breeds stress.

I know of where I speak. I was once totally out of control financially. It caused me undue stress worrying about things I didn’t have to worry about because I spent money as a means of avoiding depression. I would often have to stress over obligations because of spending money on stuff I did not need. In the past ten years if I can’t pay cash for something I just don’t buy it. That life-change took God turning my life around and teaching me self-control.

Spending money we don’t have becomes an addiction, a high. You can start today to get it under control and live within your means. Worrying about paying bills is one of the greatest destroyers of relationships. Anytime you feel you have to spend money on someone to keep them you have a bad problem. I extend that to our children too. Build memories through family activities that don’t involve spending money.

I have had two dear friends die, in the past few years, who were not only paying their own bills but those of their grown children. They were afraid to say “NO” for fear their children wouldn’t love them or spend time with them. That’s emotional blackmail! Worry and stress killed them. There is no doubt in my mind. If you are an adult with a job learn to live on your own money.

Some of us need to grow up and live responsibly. Pray and lay your finances at the feet of Jesus, ask Him humbly about teaching you to live responsibly. If you need help email me at mscathie123@yahoo.com. I will give you a list of books that really helped me.

It’s amazing how quickly God will come to your side with help once you admit you are out of control!
