Surrender To What Is

When things are happening that we are not pleased with because they might not be what we want to happen and we might not be where we really want to be but for whatever reason it’s what’s happening now and where we are now, then all we can do is surrender and go with it for now.

Surrender = peace

If you catch a fish on a hook it might start to thrash about trying its darnest to get off the hook. But very rarely will it happen that the fish escapes the hook. It’s caught and that’s just how it is.

Today I said to God that I need to have some encouragement because it feels as if He has me in a holding pattern. I want to land and go forward on my journey. Yet God whispered to me that the time is not yet for my prayers for certain things to be answered with YES. I don’t have a “no” answer but I have to surrender to what is for now!

Are you here with me beloved? If so take a deep breath or two and surrender to what is. Be still and confident that your answer is not here yet but it will be soon because God wants to give us the desires of our heart. But rest assured that when He does the time will be absolutely perfect. It’s going to be better then you ever dreamed it would be. Completely perfect.

Quit thrashing around and surrender to this moment.

Breaking! A Word From God Concerning Warfare

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3)

Beloved today I am impressed to share the above scripture with you. As I sought the Lord today I began to sense a lot of confusion in the Spirit.

I sense that a lot of God’s people are confused about where to go, what to do and it’s causing your faith to be tested more severely then it has ever been tested. I sense that some Christians are at a point they feel ready to give up. Some of you have felt like no matter how true you are to the Lord and no matter how often you fast and pray nothing is changing.

God began to speak to me that the cause of such severe confusion is a hoarde of interfering demonic spirits unleashed to create so much confusion and deception that His people feel defeated.

It is not Gods will for His people to be defeated. Beloved the Lord says in the Word that he has come that we may have peace and abundance. He wants us to have enough provision that we can not only pay our bills but help others to pay theirs also. It’s not God’s will that we go around downcast without our needs met.

The scripture above tells us that God inhabits( lives within) the praises of His people. So when we start praising God in the middle of bad circumstances he dwells among us, He stands right by our side. No devil in hell is allowed to cross the blood line that Christ puts around His people.

When an army goes into battle if at first they don’t succeed what do they do? They bring in better, more powerful weapons. So seeing that these confusing spirits are trying to keep our blessings from us in these last days we are going to have to bring in more weapons. I urge you to lift your arms and walk around your home and start praising God. When you get in your car start praising God, when you go in the shower start praising Him! If, and hopefully you do, you pray in tongues then this is the time to praise Him in tongues too!

God is going to bring breakthroughs that will shock and surprise your enemies, both in this world and the spirit world! Bring God into covenant agreement with you by praising Him in the middle of your situation!

Please let me know when your breakthroughs come so that I can share them with others for their encouragement!

The Heartbreak Of Family Estrangement

EF32001F-AB79-4A0B-BCCF-E44EE1B42D24

Some of you will understand this, others will not, but I am going to say it anyway.

I was thinking today about the wonderful, fun get-togethers my family once had. Simple fun, laughter and good food. Then certain people marry into a family and they seem to be jealous of that closeness and they set out to spread lies and tear a family apart.

When we marry into families we need to NOT be jealous of our spouses other family members. It’s ridiculous to act like that. One day you will look back on that and realize how much time you wasted like that. Time you can never get back.

Jealousy and fighting are straight from the pits of hell. Do not be jealous of the relationship your spouse has with their parents or brothers and sisters. They are not going to leave you because of those relationships. Your spouse will love you much more for loving their family. On the other hand when you divide your spouse from their family they will hold resentment against you. They may not say anything but they will resent you for coming against those they love and expecting them to choose between you or them.

I know sometimes things are said and done by family members that we don’t like. We have to let those things slide off our backs. Surely God has given us enough Grace that we can overlook these things for a few days of a visit once a year. It’s called respect.

Spend time together, forget your grudges!

He Will Calm Your Storm

296AFE55-38B6-4931-AB90-F7BC68EE9EA0

In peace I will lay down and sleep, for you alone God make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

Growing up, as a small child, we lived in the panhandle of Texas. Back then the wind would

pick up in the Summer, the clouds would move in, dark and ominous, and we knew rain was coming. Sometimes that rain would bring a tornado or two with it. I remember trying to sleep at night but being afraid to because of a tornado warning. I trusted my parents when they told me to go to sleep because if we had to get to shelter they would wake me up.

Storms come to everyone’s life. A whole lot of times they are not weather storms but storms of problems.

Life doesn’t always go perfectly for a whole lot of us who live paycheck to paycheck. We have unexpected expenses arise, and one thing like that can really throw our budgets out of whack

and we often don’t know how we are going to make it.

Then there are the emotional storms that come up, maybe it’s illness, death of a loved one, our partner leaves or has a drug or alcohol problem, we lose our jobs. It can be anything, I know because I too have storms.

The thing is that Jesus calms storms. We simply have to release them. We hold on to them thinking that unless we can figure out, with our little finite minds, what do to we are doomed. We think it’s all up to us to find a solution.

We have forgotten that we serve the God who parted the Red Sea. The God that created miracles then, is still in the miracle working business.

I have had miracles that would blow your mind. I have had times when I lost everything and yet God replaced it and more. I have had Godly people give me just enough money to keep me going because God told them too. Miracles still happen. I can honestly testify to that.

I know right now you are afraid you won’t make it either. I am going to ask you to close your eyes. See all of your problems in a basket. Now hand that basket to God. Thank Him for taking your problems, your worries and have faith that he will handle them now. He’s on the scene. Your miracle is at hand! Keep your eyes on Jesus! Not the storm! Rest knowing if he needs you he’ll call you!

When It’s Hard To Trust God

Trust

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Do you ever, like me, have times when you cannot understand what God is doing in your life? Times when you say to God, “I don’t know why you let this stuff happen to me?”

For me it happens less now, but it still happens. When it does happen I have to still my mind, start praying in tongues and say, “Father, calm me. I know this is your will for me at this moment!”

If you are in a place like this right this minute, you must trust God anyway. Say to yourself, “This is a test, I will take it and I will pass it with flying colors by trusting God and being patient.”

Through the years I have realized that we cannot learn to trust God if we never go through situations in which our trust is tested.

I have known people who never had a problem in their lives. They have never known what it is to do without the basic necessities. They come from wealthy families and that wealth has been turned over to them, commonly.

Those people, however, never learn to trust so when the moment comes when something unexpected happens to them they literally fall to pieces because they have never experienced losing anyone, anything, or doing without.

So, like Job, we learn that we do not have to be out of God’s will to be tested. God loves us and wants the best for us. It helps to remember that, during times of wondering what in the world is causing a delay to our prayers.

Without an unconditional trust in God our lives will be miserable. Each one of us has times when we experience the silence of God. We have times of questioning, as Job did.

The sooner we quit stressing, quit telling everyone our problems and just relax in trust, the more peaceful our lives will be.

I have found that as I let go of worry, questioning of God, and stressing and telling my problems to everyone, God miraculously answers my prayers quickly.

Take a deep breath. Breathe in to the count of four and then let the air out of your lungs slowly. It will be okay. Even if nobody in your whole life has been trustworthy, God is and will be with you through this storm and all the storms of your life!

Ministry is a serious covenant between those of us who serve him and God. We cannot take time off from that covenant to “do our own thing.” People are watching. When we go astray, there needs to be a time of repentance and recommitment. We may think no one see’s our secret sins, but trust me when I say God gives discernment to others. They know. We are in no position to teach others when we ourselves are far from perfect. God will restore us. But we need to be honest about our shortcomings. Too many today are telling others to stay free from sin when they are doing it themselves.

Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds,” declares the LORD.…

New Living Translation
“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from the Sovereign LORD: What sorrow awaits you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep? Ezekiel 34:2

Receiving Your Anointing

waitingonHim

1 John 2:27 – But the anointing which ye have received of him abides in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Did you know that when you received the Holy Spirit you also received an anointing for your life? The Holy Spirit now living inside of you teaches you all things and leads you into all truth concerning the plan God has for your life.

If you do not know what your calling is, and you have received the Holy Spirit, then you will want to pray and seek God and God alone regarding what area of ministering you are called into.

The scripture above clearly states the “you need not any man to teach you.” Lately it concerns me that you have certain people teaching classes showing you how to prophecy, and be a Godly seer, interpret dreams and all sorts of gifts that come directly from the Holy Spirit.

Worse yet, in my humble opinion, is that the actually charge folks for these “classes.”

I honestly tell you that you do not have to be taught how to operate in your anointing. You will be doing it simply because it’s who you are and what you do.

Furthermore, you cannot operate in any anointing that you were not called into by God.

David had an anointing on His life to slay giants. It didn’t matter that Goliath was large and muscle-bound and David was small. David was so sure that God was with him that he stepped up to Goliath and brought him down! Nowhere in the word do we read about David taking giant slaying classes.

That is how it is with God. When he is with you and the anointing is on you no demon in hell, in any form, can take you down.

I didn’t know what my calling was for years. But I did know that God was with me and I had a desire to minister to people. I started praying and fasting for answers. Finally, during one of the fasting and praying times, I woke up in the middle of the night and the fire of God was all over my body. I knew it was the Holy Spirit and I started praising God and as I did so the following scripture came to mind;

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Isaiah 52:7

I was living in New Mexico surrounded by mountains, I loved to write and I realized that was what God wanted me to do. I then started a blog right before 9/11/2001. I didn’t know what a blog was but each day God would lead me into the direction He wanted me to go. I have blogged online, in one venue or another, since then and I have written four Christian books. In this way, I minister for God.

Along the way, God used the pain in my life to lead me to go back to college and do Christian Counseling in order to help those who had, are were, experiencing things he brought me out of.

Truthfully, I wanted to be a preacher. When I was a child I would stand up on the picnic table in our backyard, in Amarillo, Texas, and preach to our dogs, and other children in the neighborhood. I had a heart for God that I was born with and Satan, to this day, tries to use situations to put my light out.

The thing is, as time went on, I realized that I did not have an anointing for preaching. I know the Word, and I love to talk and teach, but I would not be successful at preaching because it is NOT where my anointing lies.

Just having a desire to do something, doesn’t mean God will use us in that area. Sometimes He will and sometimes He will not. If we are going out in our own strength, and not that of the Holy Spirit, we will fall flat on our faces. The Anointing has to be there.

However, God has something for each of us to do in order that we fill the commission to go and make ourselves “fishers of men.” We have a God-given talent, specifically designed by God Himself, to help lead others to HIM…not to us, but that through us, we will let God shine forth.

I admonish you to pray, fast and pray and fast, and do not give up until you know that you know that God has told you the area in which you are to minister.

When I write, or counsel people, I feel the fire of the spirit come upon me. I am energized and it feels as if it takes no effort to do it at all. When the anointing comes upon me I could write or counsel all day and all night long.

Save your money, you don’t need to give it to human beings to teach you to operate in your anointing.

Start Bible College, if you want, but don’t worry at first about what area to concentrate on. Sooner or later God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, will make it very clear to you as to what area of the “body” you should be working in.

It Hurts But I Am Closer To Acceptance

pexels-photo-462034.jpeg

Can we talk? At first I wasn’t going to publish this. It shows my feelings are raw. I am usually the encouragement person. But then I prayed and felt led to share it anyway. We all are trying to be perfect. We know we don’t have to be, but we try. But the truth is we are human, in suits of flesh. We need each other. So I am publishing this. We are all pilgrims in this place longing for our home in heaven where God will wipe away each tear. So I am sharing this as I feel impressed by God that many can relate!

It hurts But I Am Closer To Acceptance

We are too hard on ourselves. When we have bad relationships with people we should either ignore it or change it. If it’s someone that is constantly uncaring, hurtful and rude it might be best to leave those people alone as much as possible. But what if it’s family? Someone you have to spend certain times with because of your spouse? It’s best to get along, in those situations, because of keeping family peace.

I have always been a “why” person. It’s who I am. I like a challenge. Because of that I will analyze a situation and make it better if I see area’s in which I might need to change.

So I looked at a certain situation and recognized area’s I needed to grow and change in. I prayed about it and I changed. I was sick of being a couple of folks emotional scapegoat. Everything I did was wrong, I was conspiring constantly to make their life miserable, according to them. I could say so much more but some of you will understand.

I changed, I quit getting involved with anything that was none of my business. I was kind and I was understanding and went out of my way to please them.

And you know what? Nothing changed. Nothing changed because these people had made me the wicked witch of the Southwest and they were used to me being the excuse for a bad relationship with another family member. They thought “we win,” and we aren’t going to change.”

Lesson learned. Sometimes we need to change our behavior around certain people. When, with the help of God, we do change and we are still ignored, used and emotionally abused it’s time to realize it is what it is and again set boundaries.

I am thankful for God’s Unconditional Love that continues to remind me that I too am loved.

My life is pretty hard. Because of my husband’s physical condition I have to take care of him and everything else by myself. He was in the hospital for 3 months and had seven operations. We lost everything we had because of our medical bills, even with insurance. It’s a challenge to put food on the table and vacations, buying gifts, well we just don’t have the money. We drive a sixteen year old car. We moved from our first rental here into a lease-to-own. We were thrilled thinking we would never have to move again. Then, the landlord decided he didn’t want to do a  lease to own, he wanted the money immediately and we didn’t have it. So we had to move and we had to borrow money from two different loan companies, my daughter and two sweet friends to do it. I pray daily for a way to buy a home. I am working hard to repair our credit scores to do so. In the meantime I thank God to just have a roof over my head. I want to move closer to friends and  some family in the Rio Rancho NM area, but I am stuck. These are folks who would be there the minute I called. So I trust God. When the time comes He will open doors for us.

Looking at a picture recently, of me at 20, I would never have imagined this would be my life in old age. It is what it is.

God gets us through each day with miracles only Chuck and I are aware of them. I build others up in faith because it also builds me up. I love Daddy God because he has said “I am with you always, never will I leave you or forsake you.”

If you think that any of us could get through our problems alone, without the faithfulness of God you are wrong. I am so blessed to be his daughter. But I have been too hard on myself at times. I don’t always need to repair all the cracks in my pot, so that those in my family might treat me better, those cracks are where HIS light shines through. Amen? I know so many of my readers can relate. Satan and those he uses tried to break us…

It didn’t work! Ha ha devil!

Coffee With Cathie 05/12/2018

6291ABDB-CB14-4824-84BF-590EEC439269

You can not turn an apple into a peach and you wouldn’t want to. An apple appeals more to some and visa versa. Each one of us was chosen, by God, to reach certain people. The apostles ,and known followers of Jesus, had diverse backgrounds. I think Paul’s background, as a dreaded tax collector, prepared him for working with hostile people.

This past week with the Lord, for me, has been both mystical and educational.

More and more the gifts he gave us are coming to the forefront and accelerating.

It’s important to remember that we all have our place in the body. If we try to operate in someone else’s anointing, that we admire, it won’t work. As an example I might want to preach, but unfortunately that’s not my anointing. God has anointed me for working with people one on one. If I decided to preach it wouldn’t succeed. I would be out of my anointing and it would show!

Sometimes, God shows me clearly what it going on with someone and the outcome of it. I then have to use extra discernment because some people can handle the truth and others cannot. Usually I file it in my mind unless they ASK for advice.

Whatever your anointing is God is going to start using you in ever greater ways. Quickly and to the point. Time is short. There is no time to beat around the bush.

You will not resonate with everyone but God knows who you will resonate with and puts them in your path. Sometimes I will write something and only one person will comment on it, especially on my blog where I have a larger audience. God tells me that it’s okay. It may have been that one person needed that word.

“1 Corinthians 12:12-27 New International Reader’s Version (NIRV)

One Body but Many Parts

12 There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 13 We were all baptized by one Holy Spirit. And so we are formed into one body. It didn’t matter whether we were Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free people. We were all given the same Spirit to drink. 14 So the body is not made up of just one part. It has many parts.

15 Suppose the foot says, “I am not a hand. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 16 And suppose the ear says, “I am not an eye. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If the whole body were an ear, how could it smell? 18 God has placed each part in the body just as he wanted it to be. 19 If all the parts were the same, how could there be a body? 20 As it is, there are many parts. But there is only one body.

21 The eye can’t say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 In fact, it is just the opposite. The parts of the body that seem to be weaker are the ones we can’t do without. 23 The parts that we think are less important we treat with special honor. The private parts aren’t shown. But they are treated with special care. 24 The parts that can be shown don’t need special care. But God has put together all the parts of the body. And he has given more honor to the parts that didn’t have any. 25 In that way, the parts of the body will not take sides. All of them will take care of one another. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.

27 You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of it.”

Have a blessed day in the Lord beloved!

Cathie
