Life’s Wilderness Experiences

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,” Isaiah 55:8

The wilderness. What is the wilderness experience with God? It’s always been, in my life, a time where it feels as if I am going around and around in circles and getting absolutely nowhere.

The wilderness is a place where God sent people who would one day lead others. Jesus of course spent 40 days and nights in the wilderness. Moses was sent to “the dark side of the mountain” during his wilderness experience. In both of these cases the wilderness experience was not due to disobedience by Jesus or Moses. In those cases they listened to God, learned to grow closer to God and developed the character they would need to sustain their calling.

The wilderness is where God sent the backsliding, complaining and doubting Israelites for forty years. That was their own fault and the forty years there was no fun I am sure.

In my case I have had wilderness experiences that I brought on myself through disobedience to God. I have had wilderness experiences where God fed into my spirit and taught me to trust only Him and develop a character that was strong enough to hold on to Him regardless of what happened. Those experiences were used to teach others how to do the same.

It’s amazing to me that a lot of wilderness experiences follow times of high mountain top experiences. You are on top of the world, perhaps have a new baby, a new home, a promotion, got married, bought the car you always wanted and then BOOM, out of the blue something happens to wake you up from your pride. Something happens that shakes your soul to the core, and there you are again. You are back in the wilderness with daddy God asking Him, “Why, why now?”

What you learn, as a believer, really quickly in the wilderness is that you are not as alone as you think you are. God is there with you. You get to know Him in a way that you would never had experienced Him had this thing that put you back in the wilderness never happened.

There is a purpose for the wilderness experiences of life. They increase our faith because one way or another God moves us out of the wilderness experiences and sets our feet on solid ground again.

After awhile you will be amazed at how calm you can remain when these circumstances of life, that are not pleasant, blind sight you. A peace will come over you that surrounds your whole being and you know that God is with you and, even though you don’t know how, you know that He is going to work this thing out to your benefit. So you relax, you say, “God, I don’t know how you are going to do it, but I do know you are going to work it all out for my good.”

The sooner you come to terms with God doing all things that happen in your life for your GOOD, the sooner you come out of the wilderness and back into your promised land.

Not everyone has perfect children, a perfect job, and a sweet loving family, a lovely home and financial security. You are fooling yourself when you compare your life to someone like that. They have had, or will have, wilderness experiences too. There is not a Christian who truly walks with God who is not tested!

Years ago I had a neighbor who I would look at in envy. God had to really deal with me about that envious spirit. But one day in prayer I said to God, as a fairly new Christian, “How come you never let anything bad happen to ********?” Clear as a bell God spoke to me, “You were not there in her childhood. She had the most horrific childhood you could imagine. You have no idea what she went through! She has suffered more there anyone you know. What I do with my other children should be of no concern of yours! Everyone has a story, you just don’t know them all!”

Believe it when I tell you that God has a purpose for every thing we go through. We may never know the purpose. Sometimes in life we do get to look back and say, “Oh, God if I had not experienced that terrible time I would not know what to do to help this person, or what to say. I would not have compassion for that person had I not been through the same thing.”

I don’t know it all, and I won’t tell you I do. I know my Father God through. I know He loves me and I know that He uses the wilderness experiences to bring us to the hilltops!

Jesus And His Heavy Duty Dyson Vacuum Cleaner

Why do we hold on to hurts? So many of us remember hurts from years ago. Some of us older folks have been holding on to things for 40 years. They are burdens and they reside in stomach problems, arthritic backs, anxiety, etc!

This morning Satan started to remind me of something said to me 30 years ago. I came out of prayer and said to the devil, STOP 🛑

Then as I started back praising God, I had a vision of a heavenly vacuum cleaner, better then a Dyson, it started from the top of my head internally and swept threw my whole body.

Then Jesus lifted the canister and it was full of things said to me, and things done to me. Ugly dark mean stuff.

Jesus took the canister to a grey in color incinerator and dumped it all in! He started a fire and I watched an ugly black smoke arise. Up and away!

Jesus turn and lovingly said to me, “All the things from your past are gone. Never again to hurt you. Now go and enjoy the rest of your life without the things deposited in your soul by the evil one!”

As I came out of the vision I felt light, free and full of Joy!

Won’t you let Jesus run his heavenly Dyson over you today and remove what’s keeping you in bondage to the past?

“But now you must also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds. “ . . . (Colossians 3:8-9)

Words Of Knowledge For God’s People

Some Words For God’s People

I do not know why,but I do know I’d better obey, this whole week God has been saying, “ It’s the calm before the storm. Stay close to me, rest up and save your strength because what is coming will take all the spiritual strength you have and more!

I have been praying during this time for many people, some on my prayer list and some that God just brings to my mind.

Here are some of the things God has shown me In the spirit;

I see a man who is literally at his wits end. He walks around all day with a smile on his face but truthfully he is torn to shreds emotionally. He is thinking of committing suicide. He has gone so far as thinking of different ways to do it. He is worn out from his stressful job and money worries. He loves his wife but her constant complaints are wearing him out. He needs help and feels there is nowhere to go, no one seems to care. God wants you to hold on brother! He cares and wants you to know he sees and is getting ready to increase your finances. You must hold on just a while longer because there is a promotion ahead for you. Just don’t blow it with “your mouth.” This is a time to trust nobody but me, says Father God, keep your anger inside. Soon everything at work will make perfect sense. Amen?

There is a woman God is showing me who is very devious. She is working against a woman of God. You think she is your friend, beloved sister, but she is two-faced. She says one thing when she is with you and it’s not the same things she says when you are not there. If you do not get her out of your life she will destroy it. God says to fast and pray. Surround yourself with angels and keep her as far away from you as possible. She is jealous of what you have and who you are. She pretends to be a sister in Christ but she has a Jezebel spirit and would love to destroy your relationships by telling lies about you. Bind that Jezebel spirit and keep her out of your inner circle. God will cover you and what she has planned for you will fall back on her. Amen!

Vision Of Warrior Angel

Just now as I was praying for those on my prayer list God gave me a vision. I saw a warrior angel draw a sword from a sheath at his side. He never hesitated but went over to demons standing in front of God’s children and, with one swing of his arm, these demons were rendered useless as he cut off their heads.

For those who have asked to be put on my prayer list expect to find supernatural strength while confronting your problems today! Warrior angels have rendered them dead.

Believe Receive Praise God!

Controllng Your Anger

anger

When we respond to things we do not like, or things that trigger us, with anger, bitterness and rebellion our lives are out of control. I am not talking about an occasional time of losing our temper, because we all do that. I am talking about a life that includes uncontrollable behavior on a daily basis.

First we have to be willing to change, and then we have to ask God to help us. If we could change on our own we would do it. We need the supernatural power of God to help us overcome our triggers.

In the gospel of Mark we see the power of Jesus displayed over and over again.

Jesus raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, restored deformed limbs, made lame people walk, cast out demons, healed incurable skin diseases, and quieted storms.

Jesus is a powerful savior and He is able to do the impossible when we ask Him to do so. Jesus came to help us. We know that because of His painful death on the cross of Calvary, which he endured so that He could free us from our bondages to sin and give us eternal life.

The problem we have is that we like to appear to be strong and handle things ourselves. We usually don’t go to Jesus for help until we have exhausted all others means of help.

He is much more powerful then any of our dependencies, problems and weaknesses. He has the power to help us with any problem we have that seems impossible. All we have to do is look to Him and say, “HELP!”

We ask for His help, in the name of Jesus. The powerful name of Jesus is miraculous. I cannot tell you the times I call on that name when things are seemingly too hard for me to bear. Truthfully, He has never let me down. When I come to Him He wipes my tears and gives me strength to get through any circumstance.

Come to Him today, Beloved. Decide not to spend another day responding to things the way you always have responded to things. If your method worked you would be free of anger, bitterness and a bad temper. He is waiting for you to ask for His help!

Signs And Wonders

expectamiracle

So Gideon said to Him, “If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who speak with me.” Judges 6:7

A lot of times people tell me that they want to hear from God yet He never speaks to them.

The truth is that God speaks to those who are open to God speaking to them. God whispers to us each day. If you are not open to the whispers, the synchronicities, you will miss them.

God is very specific when He speaks to you. I find it so fascinating that God knows that I like puzzles. So He gives me pieces of knowledge and lets me put them together to see what he is telling me. That, however, is just one of the ways He speaks with me.

Right after you read this; if you are aware, God will give you little signs, little glimpses of His divine providence. You will see things in different ways then you have seen them before, if you are open to see things differently.

A dear friend of mine died a few months ago. I was broken-hearted by her unexpected death. She was younger then I am, so I assumed I would die before her. She was too young to die. She had sent me an instant message a week before and she sounded fine. She woke up one morning, said she was having a hard time breathing, and she died instantly. It really hit me. It made me realize that we never know when someone will die and so we have to really live fully each day. I was not able to go to her services. I was upset about it and cried my eyes out the day before. The morning of the day of her service I got out of bed and went into the kitchen to start coffee. I opened my window and in broad open daylight I saw an owl looking at me. The owl just sat on the fence and looked. I felt a peace come over me, I knew that it was a messenger letting me know my friend was okay, with God and would understand my reason for not going to her service. I was able to let go a bit after seeing the owl. Owls symbolize wisdom. Both my friend and I teach wisdom learned in the crucible of fire. The school of hard-knocks was a teacher for her and for me. That’s why we bonded well as friends. I do not believe in coincidences. God spoke to me in a way I was totally open to.

God uses birds often to speak to us. We simply need to read the times in the Word birds were used by God to see their significance.

One time during a hard time in my life I had to go to the bank to clear up something I was embarrassed by. My soon to be ex-husband, at the time, had taken money out of my account that was not his to take I was in a hard position. I had not idea how I was going to pay my bills. I didn’t know what to say to the woman who I assumed was so classy nothing like that would ever have happened to her. I figured there would be no way she would understand and believe my story. I sat in the lobby of the bank, waiting for her.

They had music playing that was piped through the intercom. I was praying so hard for a miracle with the woman when all of a sudden the song, “Tiny Dancer,” which just happened to be my favorite song for all time, played. I had never heard that kind of music at the bank. I immediately calmed down knowing that God used that to let me know, “I hear you and I am with you.” Sure enough the woman was totally understanding of my situation and was able to get my money back from my ex-husbands account and in to my own.

Start watching for signs. When you pray for a sign, God will give you one. God is with us always. We have ministering angels with us always. You do not have to depend on your own ability, just be open to God performing miracles for you. Say, right now, “Thank you God for working my situation out for me. I know you are with me and all will work out fine! Then watch for signs and wonders. God is with you, just be open to hearing from Him.

The Heartbreak Of Family Estrangement

EF32001F-AB79-4A0B-BCCF-E44EE1B42D24

Some of you will understand this, others will not, but I am going to say it anyway.

I was thinking today about the wonderful, fun get-togethers my family once had. Simple fun, laughter and good food. Then certain people marry into a family and they seem to be jealous of that closeness and they set out to spread lies and tear a family apart.

When we marry into families we need to NOT be jealous of our spouses other family members. It’s ridiculous to act like that. One day you will look back on that and realize how much time you wasted like that. Time you can never get back.

Jealousy and fighting are straight from the pits of hell. Do not be jealous of the relationship your spouse has with their parents or brothers and sisters. They are not going to leave you because of those relationships. Your spouse will love you much more for loving their family. On the other hand when you divide your spouse from their family they will hold resentment against you. They may not say anything but they will resent you for coming against those they love and expecting them to choose between you or them.

I know sometimes things are said and done by family members that we don’t like. We have to let those things slide off our backs. Surely God has given us enough Grace that we can overlook these things for a few days of a visit once a year. It’s called respect.

Spend time together, forget your grudges!

He Will Calm Your Storm

296AFE55-38B6-4931-AB90-F7BC68EE9EA0

In peace I will lay down and sleep, for you alone God make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

Growing up, as a small child, we lived in the panhandle of Texas. Back then the wind would

pick up in the Summer, the clouds would move in, dark and ominous, and we knew rain was coming. Sometimes that rain would bring a tornado or two with it. I remember trying to sleep at night but being afraid to because of a tornado warning. I trusted my parents when they told me to go to sleep because if we had to get to shelter they would wake me up.

Storms come to everyone’s life. A whole lot of times they are not weather storms but storms of problems.

Life doesn’t always go perfectly for a whole lot of us who live paycheck to paycheck. We have unexpected expenses arise, and one thing like that can really throw our budgets out of whack

and we often don’t know how we are going to make it.

Then there are the emotional storms that come up, maybe it’s illness, death of a loved one, our partner leaves or has a drug or alcohol problem, we lose our jobs. It can be anything, I know because I too have storms.

The thing is that Jesus calms storms. We simply have to release them. We hold on to them thinking that unless we can figure out, with our little finite minds, what do to we are doomed. We think it’s all up to us to find a solution.

We have forgotten that we serve the God who parted the Red Sea. The God that created miracles then, is still in the miracle working business.

I have had miracles that would blow your mind. I have had times when I lost everything and yet God replaced it and more. I have had Godly people give me just enough money to keep me going because God told them too. Miracles still happen. I can honestly testify to that.

I know right now you are afraid you won’t make it either. I am going to ask you to close your eyes. See all of your problems in a basket. Now hand that basket to God. Thank Him for taking your problems, your worries and have faith that he will handle them now. He’s on the scene. Your miracle is at hand! Keep your eyes on Jesus! Not the storm! Rest knowing if he needs you he’ll call you!

When It’s Hard To Trust God

Trust

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Do you ever, like me, have times when you cannot understand what God is doing in your life? Times when you say to God, “I don’t know why you let this stuff happen to me?”

For me it happens less now, but it still happens. When it does happen I have to still my mind, start praying in tongues and say, “Father, calm me. I know this is your will for me at this moment!”

If you are in a place like this right this minute, you must trust God anyway. Say to yourself, “This is a test, I will take it and I will pass it with flying colors by trusting God and being patient.”

Through the years I have realized that we cannot learn to trust God if we never go through situations in which our trust is tested.

I have known people who never had a problem in their lives. They have never known what it is to do without the basic necessities. They come from wealthy families and that wealth has been turned over to them, commonly.

Those people, however, never learn to trust so when the moment comes when something unexpected happens to them they literally fall to pieces because they have never experienced losing anyone, anything, or doing without.

So, like Job, we learn that we do not have to be out of God’s will to be tested. God loves us and wants the best for us. It helps to remember that, during times of wondering what in the world is causing a delay to our prayers.

Without an unconditional trust in God our lives will be miserable. Each one of us has times when we experience the silence of God. We have times of questioning, as Job did.

The sooner we quit stressing, quit telling everyone our problems and just relax in trust, the more peaceful our lives will be.

I have found that as I let go of worry, questioning of God, and stressing and telling my problems to everyone, God miraculously answers my prayers quickly.

Take a deep breath. Breathe in to the count of four and then let the air out of your lungs slowly. It will be okay. Even if nobody in your whole life has been trustworthy, God is and will be with you through this storm and all the storms of your life!

Receiving Your Anointing

waitingonHim

1 John 2:27 – But the anointing which ye have received of him abides in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Did you know that when you received the Holy Spirit you also received an anointing for your life? The Holy Spirit now living inside of you teaches you all things and leads you into all truth concerning the plan God has for your life.

If you do not know what your calling is, and you have received the Holy Spirit, then you will want to pray and seek God and God alone regarding what area of ministering you are called into.

The scripture above clearly states the “you need not any man to teach you.” Lately it concerns me that you have certain people teaching classes showing you how to prophecy, and be a Godly seer, interpret dreams and all sorts of gifts that come directly from the Holy Spirit.

Worse yet, in my humble opinion, is that the actually charge folks for these “classes.”

I honestly tell you that you do not have to be taught how to operate in your anointing. You will be doing it simply because it’s who you are and what you do.

Furthermore, you cannot operate in any anointing that you were not called into by God.

David had an anointing on His life to slay giants. It didn’t matter that Goliath was large and muscle-bound and David was small. David was so sure that God was with him that he stepped up to Goliath and brought him down! Nowhere in the word do we read about David taking giant slaying classes.

That is how it is with God. When he is with you and the anointing is on you no demon in hell, in any form, can take you down.

I didn’t know what my calling was for years. But I did know that God was with me and I had a desire to minister to people. I started praying and fasting for answers. Finally, during one of the fasting and praying times, I woke up in the middle of the night and the fire of God was all over my body. I knew it was the Holy Spirit and I started praising God and as I did so the following scripture came to mind;

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Isaiah 52:7

I was living in New Mexico surrounded by mountains, I loved to write and I realized that was what God wanted me to do. I then started a blog right before 9/11/2001. I didn’t know what a blog was but each day God would lead me into the direction He wanted me to go. I have blogged online, in one venue or another, since then and I have written four Christian books. In this way, I minister for God.

Along the way, God used the pain in my life to lead me to go back to college and do Christian Counseling in order to help those who had, are were, experiencing things he brought me out of.

Truthfully, I wanted to be a preacher. When I was a child I would stand up on the picnic table in our backyard, in Amarillo, Texas, and preach to our dogs, and other children in the neighborhood. I had a heart for God that I was born with and Satan, to this day, tries to use situations to put my light out.

The thing is, as time went on, I realized that I did not have an anointing for preaching. I know the Word, and I love to talk and teach, but I would not be successful at preaching because it is NOT where my anointing lies.

Just having a desire to do something, doesn’t mean God will use us in that area. Sometimes He will and sometimes He will not. If we are going out in our own strength, and not that of the Holy Spirit, we will fall flat on our faces. The Anointing has to be there.

However, God has something for each of us to do in order that we fill the commission to go and make ourselves “fishers of men.” We have a God-given talent, specifically designed by God Himself, to help lead others to HIM…not to us, but that through us, we will let God shine forth.

I admonish you to pray, fast and pray and fast, and do not give up until you know that you know that God has told you the area in which you are to minister.

When I write, or counsel people, I feel the fire of the spirit come upon me. I am energized and it feels as if it takes no effort to do it at all. When the anointing comes upon me I could write or counsel all day and all night long.

Save your money, you don’t need to give it to human beings to teach you to operate in your anointing.

Start Bible College, if you want, but don’t worry at first about what area to concentrate on. Sooner or later God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, will make it very clear to you as to what area of the “body” you should be working in.
