Covenant Agreements With God

I bring this up because I think it will help someone to know this. I was counseling with someone yesterday that didn’t know this and she has been a longtime Christian.

In case you either have forgotten this or don’t know it; this is a reminder of something important.

I truly did not think of this until a woman I went to bible study with, many years ago, told me about it.

Let me use this story as an example.

I had a home that wasn’t selling. I prayed constantly about it and my bible study group prayed too. I needed to sell the home so that the kids and I could move to Seattle where the kids dad had been transferred.

In desperation one day I said to my bible study group, “Why isn’t this house selling? Pretty soon we are going to have two payments to make, one on this one and one on the house in Seattle.”

A lady in the group got a quizzical look on her face and said to me, “Cathie did you pray and ask God for the house you are living in now?” I told her that I had. She then said, “When you prayed and asked God for this house you came into Covenant agreement with Him. God will never break a covenant agreement. You will need to pray and ask God to allow you to break the covenant you came into for this house.”

I prayed and asked God to come out of agreement, God agreed and within less then a month the house sold.

So when you wonder what’s holding up your prayer requests stop and think if there is a covenant with God involving a prayer request that needs to be broken.

For instance say you prayed for a job you wanted and now you realize you want another job and you aren’t getting any offers, Try praying and ask God to allow you to break your covenant agreement for your current job and opening the door to a new one.

I don’t have time to list all the other scenarios but I am sure you get the idea. A new relationship may not be coming because you aren’t out of the covenant agreement you had with God concerning the last one you were in. This is just something to think about concerning unanswered prayers.

God takes covenant agreements very seriously and the only way out of one is to seek God’s permission.

A Renewed Mind

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2

More and more these days God’s people are becoming apathetic to the things of God. Nothing gets them “stirred up” You might be thinking to yourself, “I sure wish I could get excited about the Word of God and God’s work, but I just don’t feel that way anymore.”  What can you do to be stirred up for God?

Who do you spend your time around? If we spend our time around lifeless people who do nothing but complain we soon find that we “adapt” to their ways and start complaining too.

I have a certain friend who calls me and loves to complain. Nothing is ever right with her, nothing good, according to her, ever happens to her and she sees herself as a victim. The problem with that is that the “bad thing” that happened to her happened over six years ago. Still she is stuck in the self-pity mode. When I get off the phone with her I feel as if that spirit of depression that surrounds her, has attached itself to me. Now I feel down.

When we get like that we need to quit wishing things would change and take action ourselves to change things. The longer we hang out and feel sorry for ourselves the worse our lives will be. Feeling sorry for ourselves won’t change a thing. It doesn’t matter that we have every reason to feel bad about things that happened to us.

We need to stop whining. I used to do that. I would sit down and think about something that was done to me or something I had lost through the cruelty of someone else. I would think about how unfair it was and then I would start to cry and pick up the phone and dump on first one person then another.

One day God spoke to me as clear as a bell, and said, “You need to make a choice here, you can forget the past and move forward into the Promised Land I have for you, or you can remain pitiful forever.” Paul said the following regarding forgetting the past;

“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13:14

It is really quite simple. We make it harder then it is. When Satan brings thought to us regarding hurtful things of our pasts, we can make a choice to tell him. “Buzz off Satan, that’s the past and I am moving forward.” Then we make a concentrated effort to put our minds on something else. We just won’t allow ourselves to wallow in self-pity anymore. It’s over, it happened and nothing can change it. We accept it, and we move on. PERIOD.

Now, we find a group of people who are excited about the things of God. Their excitement will “rub off” on us. They have plans and they have visions. If you attend a dead church where you walk in there on Sunday, punch a ticket and walk out and forget what you learned that day, you are not where God wants you to be.

You need to get the strength inside of you to move on and visit someplace else. I don’t care if you and your whole family have gone to that church for fifty years. You need to move on to a place where God is moving mightily in folk’s lives.

God wants us to be on fire for Him, and He wants us to associate with others who can motivate the Holy Spirit within us. We are always to be motivated by what is inside of us, and not by things on the outside. I believe the reason for such apathy in Christians today is that we tend to spend too much time in the world and not enough time with other believers.

When you make up your mind to find Christian fellowship God will present opportunities to you.  But that is the point today, it’s all about changing our outlook, by changing or minds about how bad our lives are, and going into another direction mentally with God.

We can do all things through Christ, who will strengthen us. If we continue to dwell in self-pity, Satan has us where he wants us, down and defeated. He gets a lot of mileage out of things that we refuse to let go of.

It breaks my heart when I see people who ruin each day by dwelling on something that happened in the past that cannot be changed. I have so many of those situations in my own life. If I wanted to dwell there I would probably go nuts.  God showed me that time wasted in self-pity is time that we can never get back. Today might be the last day for anyone of us. Only God knows how much time we have. I want to make the most of each and every moment. I want to choose to live happy in whatever time I have left. I want to be used of God, and God can’t use negative, unhappy people.

If you are still dwelling on something from your past, let it go. If you are a defeated Christian that has been saved for ten years or more, and you still seek comfort from others, rather then giving comfort to others, you need to grow up and mature in Christ.

Confront the lies of the enemy. Don’t constantly sit around wishing for you life to change so that you can be used of God. God wants to use you NOW.  God will use us for His glory in whatever situation we are in today. There is no such thing as the perfect life. There never has been and there never will be.  We need to learn to bloom where we are planted.

Constant self-pity is self-centered behavior. We can come out of it by putting our minds on someone else and solving their problem for them. God and His people should be our priority, not our own lives. Today, lets decide to not dwell on our past hurts. Lets’ put them behind us, take God’s hand and walk forward into the plan He has had for us from the beginning of time.

Father, we take our eyes off of our problems and ourselves. Put Your Hand over our mouths when we start to “go there.”  Turn our lives around today as we seek to be a problem solver for others. Bring happy, on fire for YOU Christians across our paths. In Your Name the Name above all names we pray today. Amen and Amen.

Someone Needs This Message

Someone needs this

You keep letting someone you love make a fool of you. God loves you so much and as His beloved child his heart is broken.

You do not need this person. You are simply afraid to be alone. You have low, low self-esteem. Others look at you and cannot understand why you are letting yourself be disrespected in this way.

Love shouldn’t hurt.

Satan is using this person to destroy you. Walk away. God has a person for you that is waiting in the wings but unless you close this door you will never meet them.

In His Unconditional Love,

Once Saved Always Saved? No

We all struggle with sin every day. I know I do. No one is perfect, I am far from it but I pray daily to do the will of God.

Nevertheless some are teaching doctrines of the devil saying we can do whatever we want and still be saved. Wrong. We have sent evangelists to other countries who taught that to people who became evangelists in those countries. The goal? Money. People will come and give you money to give them assurance they can do whatever they please. There are pastors in this country who do the same.

This is what the Word says, Jeremiah 23:1

New Living Translation

“What sorrow awaits the leaders of my people–the shepherds of my sheep–for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for,” says the LORD.

The Bible warns against serious sins that will keep a person from entering God’s Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19-21) If salvation could not be lost, such warnings would be meaningless. Instead, the Bible shows that someone who has been saved can fall away by returning to a practice of serious sin. For example, Hebrews 10:26 states: “If we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left.”—Hebrews 6:4-6; 2 Peter 2:20-22.

Quit Telling People They Are Going To Hell

New International Version

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13

I believe we are all born with a conscience and with the ability to tell right from wrong. Over the years, however, our consciences become numb. We often ignore sin, and it’s consequences, or we find excuses for why our favorite sin is okay.

This morning as I read through my Facebook feed I found a lot of people telling people that if they do not change their ways they are going to hell. I am sure that is true, but is saying these things the way to bring people to salvation?

I don’t know about you, but if I am weak in some area a person like that is the last person I will seek out for counsel.

First of all, according to the word of God, we are not to confront those who are loss with the consequences of sin, but rather those in the church who are involved in sin. You can study this yourself in Matthew 18:15-17.

We are to counsel people with love, not beat them over the head with our bibles.

The scripture I started with, above, tells us that the Holy Spirit will convince people of sin. Once a person is saved the Holy Spirit will clean that person up. Not me and not you, but the Holy Spirit.

I always use this analogy to make that point; Do you catch fish that are already cleaned? It would be nice, but it doesn’t happen that way. We catch them, then we clean them. Jesus told the disciples to leave their nets and go with Him and He would make them, “Fishers Of Men.”

So if a saved person continues in sin it only shows that they love the pleasure they get from that sin more then they love God. We are told to deny ourselves and “take up our cross and bear it.”

Anything, or anyone, we put above Jesus is an idol. Any sin we love more then God is an idol.

I will tell you how God handles people who call themselves Christians and play with sin. I know this well because I straddled the fence between God and the world for years. You need to understand that when we accept Christ, the same Christ who was savagely beaten to become the perfect sacrifice for our sins, we lay down our life and take up His. So, as Christ has no sin in Him, he sets about to clean us up.

In my life, one thing after the other would go wrong until I finally realized that God was giving me wake up calls. Once I repented, and quit doing what was wrong, things got better.

Do you ever observe another Christian, who is living a half-baked Christian life, complaining about all that is going wrong in their life? You know that person is playing with sin and you believe it’s because God is trying to wake them up, but the person keeps sinning because they don’t get it. God won’t let a Christian stay in sin because it cost him too much to allow it. He will either wake them up and they will straighten up or he will take them out. You may think that’s harsh but I have seen it.

So what should we do about this? All we can really do is pray for the person. If they ask for advice we THEN give it, but not unless they ask.

What we don’t do is go around telling folks they are going to hell. The Bible says that is the Holy Spirits Job. He will bring a born again Christian to repentance. He’s the only one who can.

It shows a self-righteousness that reminds me of the Pharisees when we constantly tell people they are going to hell. It also shows that we as Christians are not loving towards sinners but instead we sound judgmental, “I am better then you, you lowly sinner.”

God warned Peter that he would betray him three times before the cock crowed. Peter denied that he would ever do such a thing but the Word teaches us that he did just that.

The minute we start acting, “Holier then thou,” the biggest temptation of our lives will come at us and often it brings us down.

We can preach better with our lives then with our mouths! That’s why I say quit telling folks they are going to hell. Let the Holy Spirit do that. He will cause things to happen to bring about their total surrender, trust me. Just pray them into the Kingdom.

A Word For Someone

Someone needs to hear the following;

God says this morning, “Is your love for me depending on what I give you? If I never gave you anything you ask me for will you love me enough to still serve me?”

Trust God’s promises because He does not lie. He often tests our loyalty just as He did with Job.

I am reminded of Sarah who became miraculously pregnant in her old age.

God’s promises will be fulfilled.

He’s impressing on me to tell someone this morning,

“It will not come to your front door. Walk forward in faith as if it was already in your possession and as you walk out in faith I will open all the right doors in front you!”

8Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” John 5:8

Supernatural Healing

Today I am sharing this glorious story of supernatural healing written by a long gone saint of God, Smith Wigglesworth. It’s God’s will to heal us from the top of our heads to the souls of our feet! Be healed beloved of God in the mighty name of Jesus!

“We have a wonderful God, a God whose ways are past finding out, and whose grace and power are limitless. I was in Belfast one day and saw one of the brethren of the assembly. He said to me, “Wigglesworth, I am troubled. I have had a good deal of sorrow during the past five months. I had a woman in my assembly who could always pray the blessing of heaven down on our meetings. She is an old woman, but her presence is always an inspiration. But five months ago she fell and broke her thigh. The doctors put her into a plaster cast, and after five months they broke the cast. But the bones were not properly set and so she fell and broke the thigh again.”

He took me to her house, and there was a woman lying in a bed on the right hand side of the room. I said to her, “Well, what about it now?” She said, “They have sent me home incurable. The doctors say that I am so old that my bones won’t knit. There is no nutriment in my bones and they could never do anything for me, and they say I shall have to lie in bed for the rest of my life.” I said to her, “Can you believe God?” She replied, “Yes, ever since I heard that you had come to Belfast my faith has been quickened. If you will pray, I will believe. I know there is no power on earth that can make the bones of my thigh knit, but I know there is nothing impossible with God.” I said, “Do you believe He will meet you now?” She answered, “I do.”

It is grand to see people believe God. God knew all about this leg and that it was broken in two places. I said to the woman, “When I pray, something will happen.” Her husband was sitting there; he had been in his chair for four years and could not walk a step. He called out, “I don’t believe. I won’t believe. You will never get me to believe.” I said, “All right,” and laid my hands on his wife in the name of the Lord Jesus. The moment hands were laid upon her the power of God went right through her and she cried out, “I’m healed.” I said, “I’m not going to assist you to rise. God will do it all.” She rose and walked up and down the room, praising God.

The old man was amazed at what had happened to his wife, and he cried out, “Make me walk, make me walk.” I said to him, “You old sinner, repent.” He cried out, “Lord, You know I never meant what I said. You know I believe.” I don’t think he meant what he said; anyhow the Lord was full of compassion. If He marked our sins, where would any of us be? If we will meet the conditions, God will always meet us. If we believe, all things are possible. I laid my hands on him and the power went right through the old man’s body; and those legs, for the first time in four years, received power to carry his body, and he walked up and down and in and out. He said, “O what great things God has done for us tonight!”

“What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Desire toward God, and you will have desires from God; and He will meet you on the line of those desires when you reach out in simple faith.”

Words Of Knowledge For God’s People

Some Words For God’s People

I do not know why,but I do know I’d better obey, this whole week God has been saying, “ It’s the calm before the storm. Stay close to me, rest up and save your strength because what is coming will take all the spiritual strength you have and more!

I have been praying during this time for many people, some on my prayer list and some that God just brings to my mind.

Here are some of the things God has shown me In the spirit;

I see a man who is literally at his wits end. He walks around all day with a smile on his face but truthfully he is torn to shreds emotionally. He is thinking of committing suicide. He has gone so far as thinking of different ways to do it. He is worn out from his stressful job and money worries. He loves his wife but her constant complaints are wearing him out. He needs help and feels there is nowhere to go, no one seems to care. God wants you to hold on brother! He cares and wants you to know he sees and is getting ready to increase your finances. You must hold on just a while longer because there is a promotion ahead for you. Just don’t blow it with “your mouth.” This is a time to trust nobody but me, says Father God, keep your anger inside. Soon everything at work will make perfect sense. Amen?

There is a woman God is showing me who is very devious. She is working against a woman of God. You think she is your friend, beloved sister, but she is two-faced. She says one thing when she is with you and it’s not the same things she says when you are not there. If you do not get her out of your life she will destroy it. God says to fast and pray. Surround yourself with angels and keep her as far away from you as possible. She is jealous of what you have and who you are. She pretends to be a sister in Christ but she has a Jezebel spirit and would love to destroy your relationships by telling lies about you. Bind that Jezebel spirit and keep her out of your inner circle. God will cover you and what she has planned for you will fall back on her. Amen!

Breaking! A Word From God Concerning Warfare

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3)

Beloved today I am impressed to share the above scripture with you. As I sought the Lord today I began to sense a lot of confusion in the Spirit.

I sense that a lot of God’s people are confused about where to go, what to do and it’s causing your faith to be tested more severely then it has ever been tested. I sense that some Christians are at a point they feel ready to give up. Some of you have felt like no matter how true you are to the Lord and no matter how often you fast and pray nothing is changing.

God began to speak to me that the cause of such severe confusion is a hoarde of interfering demonic spirits unleashed to create so much confusion and deception that His people feel defeated.

It is not Gods will for His people to be defeated. Beloved the Lord says in the Word that he has come that we may have peace and abundance. He wants us to have enough provision that we can not only pay our bills but help others to pay theirs also. It’s not God’s will that we go around downcast without our needs met.

The scripture above tells us that God inhabits( lives within) the praises of His people. So when we start praising God in the middle of bad circumstances he dwells among us, He stands right by our side. No devil in hell is allowed to cross the blood line that Christ puts around His people.

When an army goes into battle if at first they don’t succeed what do they do? They bring in better, more powerful weapons. So seeing that these confusing spirits are trying to keep our blessings from us in these last days we are going to have to bring in more weapons. I urge you to lift your arms and walk around your home and start praising God. When you get in your car start praising God, when you go in the shower start praising Him! If, and hopefully you do, you pray in tongues then this is the time to praise Him in tongues too!

God is going to bring breakthroughs that will shock and surprise your enemies, both in this world and the spirit world! Bring God into covenant agreement with you by praising Him in the middle of your situation!

Please let me know when your breakthroughs come so that I can share them with others for their encouragement!

Receiving Your Anointing

waitingonHim

1 John 2:27 – But the anointing which ye have received of him abides in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Did you know that when you received the Holy Spirit you also received an anointing for your life? The Holy Spirit now living inside of you teaches you all things and leads you into all truth concerning the plan God has for your life.

If you do not know what your calling is, and you have received the Holy Spirit, then you will want to pray and seek God and God alone regarding what area of ministering you are called into.

The scripture above clearly states the “you need not any man to teach you.” Lately it concerns me that you have certain people teaching classes showing you how to prophecy, and be a Godly seer, interpret dreams and all sorts of gifts that come directly from the Holy Spirit.

Worse yet, in my humble opinion, is that the actually charge folks for these “classes.”

I honestly tell you that you do not have to be taught how to operate in your anointing. You will be doing it simply because it’s who you are and what you do.

Furthermore, you cannot operate in any anointing that you were not called into by God.

David had an anointing on His life to slay giants. It didn’t matter that Goliath was large and muscle-bound and David was small. David was so sure that God was with him that he stepped up to Goliath and brought him down! Nowhere in the word do we read about David taking giant slaying classes.

That is how it is with God. When he is with you and the anointing is on you no demon in hell, in any form, can take you down.

I didn’t know what my calling was for years. But I did know that God was with me and I had a desire to minister to people. I started praying and fasting for answers. Finally, during one of the fasting and praying times, I woke up in the middle of the night and the fire of God was all over my body. I knew it was the Holy Spirit and I started praising God and as I did so the following scripture came to mind;

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Isaiah 52:7

I was living in New Mexico surrounded by mountains, I loved to write and I realized that was what God wanted me to do. I then started a blog right before 9/11/2001. I didn’t know what a blog was but each day God would lead me into the direction He wanted me to go. I have blogged online, in one venue or another, since then and I have written four Christian books. In this way, I minister for God.

Along the way, God used the pain in my life to lead me to go back to college and do Christian Counseling in order to help those who had, are were, experiencing things he brought me out of.

Truthfully, I wanted to be a preacher. When I was a child I would stand up on the picnic table in our backyard, in Amarillo, Texas, and preach to our dogs, and other children in the neighborhood. I had a heart for God that I was born with and Satan, to this day, tries to use situations to put my light out.

The thing is, as time went on, I realized that I did not have an anointing for preaching. I know the Word, and I love to talk and teach, but I would not be successful at preaching because it is NOT where my anointing lies.

Just having a desire to do something, doesn’t mean God will use us in that area. Sometimes He will and sometimes He will not. If we are going out in our own strength, and not that of the Holy Spirit, we will fall flat on our faces. The Anointing has to be there.

However, God has something for each of us to do in order that we fill the commission to go and make ourselves “fishers of men.” We have a God-given talent, specifically designed by God Himself, to help lead others to HIM…not to us, but that through us, we will let God shine forth.

I admonish you to pray, fast and pray and fast, and do not give up until you know that you know that God has told you the area in which you are to minister.

When I write, or counsel people, I feel the fire of the spirit come upon me. I am energized and it feels as if it takes no effort to do it at all. When the anointing comes upon me I could write or counsel all day and all night long.

Save your money, you don’t need to give it to human beings to teach you to operate in your anointing.

Start Bible College, if you want, but don’t worry at first about what area to concentrate on. Sooner or later God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, will make it very clear to you as to what area of the “body” you should be working in.
