In The Presence Of My Enemies

Psalm 23:5New King James Version (NKJV)
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.

The Lord kept bringing this scripture to my mind today. I started to pray about it and asked the Lord, What is it you want to teach me here?”

The Lord then gave me a vision of Him preparing me a beautiful table of wonderful food. He pulled my chair out, as he sat me down at a table with beautiful dishes and fine crystal glasses and he stood behind me and anointed me with perfumed oil.

With tears running down my cheeks I looked and across the room and I saw them, they were a group of people who had used me, abused me, and treated me horribly during my life as far back as childhood. They looked on in horror as they saw me, at that table being spoiled by Daddy God.

The Lord spoke this to me, “Tell my people that for every time they have been treated badly, the times that they did only good to others who cheated them, hurt them physically, emotionally and mentally, who stole from them, lied to them I was there and have been setting a place at my table for them.”

The story in Luke 16 came to my mind then. The story of the rich man….

4So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
25“But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
27“He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30“ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

Beloved of the Lord, God has seen it all. He prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies, our cup runs over and he anoints OUR heads with oil, healing oil that erases the pain of injustices and hurts and, at that time, we will remember them no more!
In His Unconditional Love,
Cathie
