In My Unconditional Love

Daddy God

Romans 8:28 (NIV): “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

A Table in the Wilderness: Reflections on Psalm 23:5

In the heart of the Psalms, there lies a verse that has comforted and challenged many through the ages: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies” (Psalm 23:5). This imagery of a banquet prepared by God Himself, in the midst of adversaries, speaks volumes about the divine provision and protection we are promised.

The Banquet of Abundance

The table is a symbol of sustenance and abundance. In ancient times, to prepare a table meant to lay out a feast. It wasn’t just about the food; it was about the honor and the fellowship that came with it. When the Psalmist declares that God prepares a table, it is a declaration of trust in God’s provision even when circumstances seem dire.

In the Presence of My Enemies

The presence of enemies is undeniable. They may not always be physical adversaries; often, they are the trials and tribulations of life. Yet, the Psalm assures us that even in their presence, God’s blessings are not hindered. The table is still prepared, the feast is still laid out, and the invitation to partake is still open.

Anointing and Overflow

The verse continues, “You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Anointing was a sign of being chosen and blessed. The overflowing cup represents not just sufficiency, but superabundance. In God’s care, we are not just getting by; we are thriving.

A Call to Trust

This verse calls us to a deep trust in God’s provision and protection. It invites us to sit at the table He has prepared, to enjoy the feast of His presence, and to rest in the assurance that no enemy can spoil what God has ordained.

The Shepherd’s Care

David, the author of Psalm 23, was a shepherd before he was a king. He knew the dangers that lurked in the wilderness. Yet, he also knew the care and guidance a shepherd provides for his flock. God is likened to this shepherd, leading us to green pastures and still waters, and ultimately, to a table of fellowship.

The Journey to the Table

The journey to this table is not always easy. It winds through valleys and shadows, through places of fear and uncertainty. But the promise of the table awaits. It is a promise of rest, of nourishment, and of celebration in the midst of life’s battles.

The Community at the Table

This table is not just for one. It is a table set for all who will come. It is a place of community and unity, where differences are set aside, and commonality is found in the presence of God. It is a foretaste of the heavenly banquet promised to all believers.

The Response to the Invitation

We are all given the invitation to this table. The question is, how will we respond? Will we come with humility and gratitude, ready to receive what has been prepared for us? Or will we allow the enemies of doubt and fear to keep us away?

In our lives, we face many ‘enemies’ – fear, doubt, hardship, illness. Yet, amidst these challenges, we are invited to a feast of faith, hope, and love. Let us take our place at the table, anointed and overflowing, and let our hearts echo the confidence of the Psalmist.

Sunday Sermon: “Trusting in God’s Plan: The Power of Obedience and Faith”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today we gather in the presence of the Lord to meditate on the timeless wisdom found in John 21, where the narrative of Peter’s miraculous catch of fish unfolds before us, revealing profound lessons of obedience, faith, and trust in God’s divine guidance.

In this passage, we witness Peter, a seasoned fisherman, laboring through the night with no catch to show for his efforts. As Jesus stands on the shore, He instructs Peter to cast his nets on the right side of the boat, a direction that seemed counterintuitive to Peter’s expertise, as he had tried this before without success. Despite his initial doubts and reservations, Peter chooses to trust in Jesus’ words and obeys His command. The result is a miraculous abundance of fish that fills their nets to overflowing, a reminder of the transformative power of obedience and faith in God’s plan.

Peter’s obedience in this moment challenges us to trust in God’s wisdom and guidance, even when it goes against our own understanding. It prompts us to surrender our pride and expertise at the feet of our Heavenly Father, knowing that His ways are higher and His plans are perfect.

But obedience is a two-sided coin, as we have also seen in the story of Jonah, who chose to go against God’s command and faced the consequences of his disobedience. There are moments in our lives when we believe we know best and forge ahead with our own plans, ignoring God’s gentle nudges in a different direction. However, the lessons of Peter and Jonah remind us of the importance of humble obedience and trust in God’s will, even when it challenges our own desires and logic.

After the tragic event in Israel, a divine prompting by God led me to give sacrificially to a specific Kibbutz, despite the financial hardship it would cause. Wrestling with the decision, I chose to trust in God’s provision and obey His call. The result was a series of unexpected donations that not only replenished the initial gift but doubled it, a tangible manifestation of God’s abundant blessing and provision.

This is a living example of the transformative power of obedience and trust in God’s promises. It echoes the truth that when we walk in alignment with God’s will, His blessings overflow in ways that exceed our understanding and expectations.

Dear friends, let us be inspired by the stories of Peter, Jonah, and the modern-day testimony, embracing the path of obedience and faith in our own lives. Let us surrender our doubts and fears, trusting in the unfailing promises of our Heavenly Father and knowing that His plans for us far exceed our own limited understanding.

As we navigate the waters of life, may we walk in faith, obedience, and humility, anchored in the unchanging truth of God’s love and provision. Let us heed the call to trust in His guidance, even when it challenges our expertise and logic, knowing that He is faithful to fulfill His purposes in our lives.

Let us bow our heads in prayer: Heavenly Father, grant us the courage and faith to obey Your commands, even when they seem contrary to our own desires. May we walk in humility and trust, knowing that Your plans for us are good and perfect. Amen.

May the peace and blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen.

Healing Emotional Wounds Caused by Self-Righteous Christians in the Body of Christ

The Church is meant to be a place of love, acceptance, and healing, where individuals find refuge and support in their faith journey. However, the reality is that some people have experienced emotional wounds at the hands of self-righteous Christians within the body of Christ. How can we recognize the impact of self-righteousness on others and help them heal without turning away from God? In this blog post, we will explore the effects of self-righteous attitudes in the Church, how to recognize emotional wounds caused by them, and strategies for healing and restoration while maintaining a strong faith in God.

Understanding the Impact of Self-Righteousness in the Church:

Self-righteousness in the Church can manifest as a judgmental attitude, a lack of empathy and grace, and a sense of moral superiority over others. When individuals within the body of Christ exhibit self-righteous behavior, it can lead to feelings of shame, guilt, rejection, and spiritual harm in those who are on the receiving end. The wounds caused by self-righteous Christians can deeply impact a person’s relationship with God, their self-worth, and their sense of belonging within the Church community.

Recognizing Emotional Wounds Caused by Self-Righteous Christians:

Identifying emotional wounds caused by self-righteous Christians requires sensitivity, empathy, and a willingness to listen and understand. Here are some signs that may indicate the impact of self-righteousness on individuals within the Church:

1. Feelings of unworthiness and shame: Individuals who have been judged or condemned by self-righteous Christians may struggle with feelings of unworthiness, shame, and inadequacy in their faith journey.

2. Loss of trust and disillusionment: Experiencing betrayal, rejection, or hypocrisy from self-righteous Christians can lead to a loss of trust in the Church, its leaders, and in God.

3. Spiritual confusion and doubt: Emotional wounds caused by self-righteousness may result in confusion, doubt, and questioning of one’s faith, beliefs, and relationship with God.

4. Isolation and loneliness: Feeling ostracized or marginalized by self-righteous Christians can lead to a sense of isolation, loneliness, and disconnection from the Church community.

5. Emotional pain and trauma: The emotional wounds inflicted by self-righteousness can result in deep-seated pain, trauma, and unresolved issues that impact mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Healing from Emotional Wounds Without Turning Against God:

Healing from emotional wounds caused by self-righteous Christians while maintaining a strong faith in God is possible with intentional steps towards restoration and healing. Here are some strategies for healing and growth:

1. Seek support and counseling: Engaging in counseling, therapy, or pastoral care can provide a safe space to process emotions, explore healing, and receive support in navigating the impact of emotional wounds.

2. Practice self-compassion and self-care: Prioritizing self-care, self-compassion, and self-acceptance can foster healing, resilience, and emotional well-being in the face of emotional wounds.

3. Engage in spiritual practices: Connecting with God through prayer, meditation, Scripture reading, worship, and fellowship can nurture faith, restore hope, and deepen spiritual resilience in the healing process.

4. Set healthy boundaries: Establishing boundaries, practicing assertiveness, and advocating for your needs and well-being can protect against further harm and promote emotional healing.

5. Cultivate forgiveness and grace: Choosing to forgive those who have caused emotional wounds and extending grace and compassion towards oneself and others can facilitate healing, release bitterness, and foster reconciliation.

In conclusion, healing from emotional wounds caused by self-righteous Christians in the body of Christ is a journey of courage, grace, and faith. By recognizing the impact of self-righteousness, seeking support, practicing self-compassion, engaging in spiritual practices, setting healthy boundaries, and cultivating forgiveness and grace, individuals can navigate the path of healing and restoration without turning against God. May we all strive to embody the love, grace, and compassion of Christ in our interactions within the Church community, fostering a culture of acceptance, empathy, and healing for all who are wounded and in need of restoration.

Why God Warns Us Against Seeking Revenge

Hello Everyone,
As promised let’s discuss why God is against revenge, even though it can be difficult to refrain from seeking retaliation against those who have hurt us. Have a blessed day.
Love you all!
Cathie

  1. The Principle of Love and Forgiveness: God’s teachings emphasize the principles of love and forgiveness. In Christianity, Jesus taught his followers to love their enemies and to pray for those who persecute them. This means showing compassion and forgiveness, rather than seeking revenge. By choosing to forgive, we exhibit the divine qualities of mercy and grace.
  2. Breaking the Cycle of Violence: Seeking revenge often leads to a never-ending cycle of violence and retaliation. When we respond to harm with more harm, it only perpetuates the cycle and causes more pain. God desires peace and reconciliation among individuals and communities. By refraining from revenge, we have the opportunity to break this cycle and promote healing and restoration.
  3. Trusting God’s Justice: God is believed to be a just and righteous judge. He sees and knows every action, including the injustices we may face. The Bible teaches that vengeance belongs to God, and it is His role to mete out justice. By trusting in God’s justice, we can release our desire for revenge and find solace in the belief that He will ultimately judge and address all wrongdoings.
  4. The Power of Transformation: Instead of seeking revenge, God calls us to transform ourselves and others through love and forgiveness. When we respond to harm with kindness, we have the potential to change hearts and minds. By showing compassion and forgiveness, we create an environment that allows for personal growth, redemption, and reconciliation.
  5. Personal Well-being and Spiritual Growth: Seeking revenge can consume our thoughts, emotions, and energy, leading to bitterness, anger, and a lack of inner peace. By choosing not to seek revenge, we free ourselves from the burden of carrying hatred and negativity. It allows us to focus on personal well-being, spiritual growth, and cultivating positive relationships with others.

In conclusion, while it may be challenging to resist the urge for revenge when we have been deeply hurt, God’s teachings encourage us to choose a different path. By embracing love, forgiveness, and trust in God’s justice, we can break the cycle of violence and promote healing and reconciliation.

  1. Matthew 5:38-39 (NIV):
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.”
  2. Romans 12:17-19 (NIV):
“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
  3. Matthew 5:43-44 (NIV):
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
  4. Luke 6:27-28 (NIV):
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
  5. Proverbs 20:22 (NIV):
“Do not say, ‘I’ll pay you back for this wrong!’ Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.”
  6. 1 Peter 3:9 (NIV):
“Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”
  7. Colossians 3:13 (NIV):
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

These scriptures emphasize the importance of choosing love, forgiveness, and trusting in God’s justice rather than seeking revenge. They encourage us to pray for our enemies, to live at peace with others, and to leave room for God to bring about justice in His own time.

Walking in the Supernatural Gifts of the Holy Spirit

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.” (Joel 2:28-29)

The supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are an incredible aspect of our Christian faith. These gifts empower us to operate in the supernatural realm, where we can experience the power and presence of God in a tangible way. As believers, we have been called to walk in these gifts and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to impact the world around us. In this blog post, we will explore some of these gifts and the scriptures that support their importance in our lives.

1. The Gift of Prophecy

The gift of prophecy is the ability to receive and communicate a message from God. It is a powerful gift that can bring encouragement, direction, and correction to individuals and communities. The Apostle Paul exhorted the believers in Corinth by saying, “Pursue love and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 14:1) This verse encourages us to eagerly desire this gift and use it to edify and build up others.

2. The Gift of Healing

The gift of healing is the supernatural ability to pray for the sick and see them recover. Jesus demonstrated this gift throughout His ministry, healing the blind, the lame, and the sick. In James 5:14-15, we are encouraged to call upon the elders of the church to pray over the sick, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. This passage reveals the importance of this gift in the body of Christ and encourages us to believe in the power of God to bring healing.

3. The Gift of Discernment

The gift of discernment is the ability to distinguish between the spirit of truth and the spirit of deception. It is a crucial gift that helps us navigate through the spiritual realm and recognize the work of the enemy. The Apostle John urges believers to test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1) This gift enables us to discern the true nature of spiritual influences and protect ourselves and others from deception.

4. The Gift of Tongues

The gift of tongues is the ability to speak in a language unknown to the speaker, either human or angelic. It is a gift that allows us to communicate directly with God and build ourselves up in our most holy faith. The Apostle Paul encourages believers to earnestly desire the gift of tongues and to use it for personal edification. (1 Corinthians 14:5) This gift enables us to connect with God on a deeper level and strengthens our prayer life.

5. The Gift of Miracles

The gift of miracles is the supernatural ability to perform signs and wonders that defy natural laws. It is a gift that demonstrates the power and authority of God in our lives. Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12) This verse reminds us that as believers, we have been given the authority to operate in the same miraculous power that Jesus displayed during His earthly ministry.

Walking in the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit is an invitation to experience the fullness of God’s power and love. It is a journey of faith, where we step out in obedience and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us. As we eagerly desire these gifts and seek to use them for the glory of God and the benefit of others, we will see lives transformed, miracles happen, and the kingdom of God advance.

Let us embrace these gifts with a friendly, loving, and inspiring attitude, always remembering that they are meant to build up the body of Christ and bring glory to our Heavenly Father. May we walk in the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit, allowing His power to flow through us, and may our lives be a testimony to the love and grace of God.
