To my surprise, one day, God replied. His words were simple yet profound: “Because I want you to depend on me only.” Those nine words shook me to my core, initiating a journey that reshaped my entire worldview.

God’s message was clear. He sought a closer relationship with me, one where my reliance was on His unwavering strength and infinite wisdom, not on the fleeting and often flawed promises of humans. This journey wasn’t about self-reliance; rather, it was about divine dependence.

Depending on God doesn’t mean we negate the importance of people in our lives, but rather, we align our ultimate faith and trust in the One who created us. Humans, bless their hearts, are clothed in suits of flesh and are susceptible to their own struggles and failings.

Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

I remember vividly when, in 2012, God spoke to me, promising to renew my mind. At that time, I was engulfed in thoughts that led me astray, making me feel anxious, fearful, and disconnected from the truth of God’s love. This promise kickstarted a profound journey based on Romans 12:2, a journey where I learned that transformation is not a one-time event but a continual process.

The Battle of the Mind

The mind is a battlefield. Too often, we find ourselves plagued by thoughts that aren’t grounded in truth.
